How do I create an account?
Click here to find the "create account" form. Fill in your name, contact information, and email and password, and you're set! When you sign up, you'll be logged in automatically and can start completing your applications right away.
Where do I go to submit entries?
When you first log into your account , you'll see a "Start a new application" form. Simply choose which category you want to enter, give your application a title, and click the "Start" button. In the form that loads, you will find all the information you need in order to submit an application to your selected category. You don't have to complete your entry all in one sitting. Hit the "Save" button any time, and come back to it later.
When you're finished, tap the "Add to cart" button at the bottom of the application form. Your entries are considered "officially entered" once payment for your entry fees has been received.
Can I make changes to my application after I've submitted it?

Yes! There is no requirement to hold a chamber membership when applying.
Can I apply for more than one category?
There is no restriction on the number of categories you can apply for, apply away!
What information is needed to apply?
Please refer to our "ABEX Application Package" for information on general and award-specific requirements.
What's the difference between nominating and applying?
- Applying: If your business has excelled in a specific category, you can submit an application to be considered for an ABEX Award. No nomination is required to apply.
- Nominating: Know a business that deserves recognition? Submit a nomination to encourage them to apply. The business must still complete an application to be considered.
If I nominate a business, are they automatically entered?
No, a nomination simply notifies the business that someone believes they deserve recognition. They must still complete an application to be considered.
What happens after I submit a nomination?
The nominated business will receive a notification with details on how to apply. It is then up to them to complete and submit an application before the deadline.
Can I nominate my own business?
Technically, yes, but this is an unnecessary step, as you will still need to complete an application. If you would like your business to participate in the ABEX Awards, simply skip the nominations step, and apply for the category or categories you feel are the best fit!
When will I find out if my business has been selected as a finalist?
ABEX Finalists will be announced the third week of June via a news release, e-newsletter, and social media post. All applicants will be notified via email by a Saskatchewan Chamber team member, regardless of whether they are selected as a finalist.
What is the judging process?
Applications undergo objective third-party adjudication by an accounting firm. Once this evaluation is complete, applications are sent to a judging committee composed of past presidents of the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce. Financial statements are not shared with the judging committee; financial information is assessed solely during third-party adjudication. Full details on the judging process can be found here.
The ABEX Business of the Year is selected by the ABEX Judging Panel. The judges evaluate all finalists who opt in for consideration and complete the additional question in their ABEX application. The winner is chosen based on overall excellence, resilience, growth, and economic impact in Saskatchewan.
Note: The special ABEX Awards (Hall of Fame, Business Leader, Community Leader, Roger Phillips Chamber Builder) are hand-selected by the judging committee.
What is the ABEX Business of the Year Award?
The Business of the Year Award is the highest honour at the ABEX Awards. It recognizes a business that has demonstrated exceptional performance in resilience, growth, stability, and overall business excellence. The recipient is selected from all ABEX finalists across application-based categories.
